Hill Street Cafe is a local favorite! With healthy food and environmentally conscious business practices, it still features one of the most diverse menus in North County. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Hill Street has a full menu with vegan and vegetarian options. Many selections feature local, organic ingredients, everything is "homemade," and prices are very reasonable. Beer and wine are offered. And of course, as a cafe, they have espresso drinks.
There is indoor and outdoor seating with an enclosed patio overlooking Coast Highway. There are also rooms available for private parties.
In the early '90s it was just a coffee shop, but now it features a huge menu and doubles as a gallery, so you will see art throughout. There are CDs, printed t-shirts, art and more available for purchase from local artists.
The restaurant shares a converted Victorian home with The Pod Room, an independent surfboard, art and clothing shop. It is adjacent to The Fish Joint, which is also owned by Dan Callaway. You can order off of either establishment's menu at both locations.
It is a Prime Pick according to the Union-Tribune

Be aware that after 11 a.m. you can still get breakfast but it will take a little while longer.
